"I have a few obsessions. Dogs, Pucci scarves, & great art happen to top the list.
So, imagine my surprise when I discovered Jo's work just after the death of my 16 1/2 year old chinese crested/jack russell terrier Maya. She was my angel & I immediately contacted Studio Legohead for a commissioned drawing. We exchanged a few photos & talked about Maya's life.
I couldn't wait for it to arrive, which it did in a very timely fashion. But I wasn't prepared for what I found when the package arrived. Wrapped in several layers of protective material, I uncovered the most beautiful slice of heaven with a touching note about Jo's experience during the making of it.
To say I adore my new piece of art would be an understatement. A total one-of-a-kind creative chunk of deliciousness! xoxo"

"I commissioned Jo to do an illustration of my cat Kip who is a big, beautiful black cat with a gentle and inquisitive nature. We chatted via email about the kind of illustration I was hoping for, I told Jo about Kip and sent her some pictures. Jo understood completely how cherished Kip is to me and drew him with such love attention to detail it blew my socks off! Everyone who has seen Kip’s portrait, which I posted on my blog, agrees she has captured him to a tee! Not only is Jo wildly talented and a delight to work with she is also extremely professional, managing deadlines and expectations with great aplomb. My entire experience was a positive one from start to finish and I would eagerly work with Jo again.:

"Not only did Jo capture my furbaby beautifully, but she is an absolute gem and great fun to collaborate with. The detail and exquisite way she’s captured the life and expression of my beloved shih tzu, is heartwarming and brings joy to me every time I see it. I’ve had to create wall space in my home for the sole purpose of showcasing her amazing work, as I couldn’t help but commission a second portrait; not surprisingly, loving it every bit as much as the first. My biggest challenge is figuring out where I can hang future Studio Legohead works of art to treasure forever."

"You nailed Phoebe...when my mom opened it her response was, "I miss my little girl so much" as tears streamed down her cheeks.
She has even surprised me by putting it on her mantle since she wants it to be where she can always see it(it looks kinda funny next to her traditional English hunt print :) but she thinks she can figure out how to make it work)
I wish you could've met Phoebe...I think you would've fallen in love!"

"Jo was so great to deal with and her interpretation of my little pup Ruby was perfect. I love her work, and the picture she drew of Ruby makes me smile every time I look at it. I had it framed and when I gave it to my girlfriend as a gift she almost cried! I've recommended her to all my pet loving friends who now want pictures done of their pets."

"I commissioned Jo to design an embroidery of our dog for my husbands 40th birthday, Jo reviewed some options with me with regard to embellishments etc. and then got to work. I was expecting the embroidery to take some time to complete but to my surprise a few days later Jo confirmed that it was finished and ready ! My husband loves the embroidery of 'Roxy' which is the spitting image of her and she looks especially beautiful in her jewelled necklace !"

"I commissioned an embroidery of our old dog Merlin as a gift for my other half. Jo managed an amazing job based on a couple of very poor quality blurry photos. She managed a really good likeness and captured his crazy personality too, as well as adding a personal touch with his hat design. The finished piece was completed and delivered in record time, and now has pride of place on our bedroom wall. A real original - we are delighted with it"

"Love love love the portrait of Percy, which was a gift for a dear friend (who was even more delighted). Jo was a real pleasure to work with. And the artwork was rendered and shipped quickly too."

"It's been a real pleasure dealing with Jo, she absolutely captured the mood I was looking for. The portraits are even better than what I expected, and they arrived safely and quickly. Totally worth it! :)
And I really mean it ;)"

"What a fabulous job and you made it such an easy process! You really captured the personality of my dogs. Everyone who sees it comments on what a wonderful drawing it is and the cool creative style. It is a picture we will cherish.
Thanks you so much."

"I've wanted a portrait of my pooch Rutabaga pretty much from the day I got her. However, I never wanted to approach my artist friends about it because I was always afraid I would come across as one of those pet owners. Needless to say, when I stumbled upon Jo's work on Etsy, I was instantly smitten. I decided to wait and browse around though, just to make sure there wasn't anyone else better out there. Foolish, I know! Because let me tell y'all right now, there just isn't anyone better. It finally took me coming across Jo's work again on Oh Joy! blog, to commit. From the initial message until I received the portrait in the mail, Jo has been phenomenal! She was attentive to even the tinniest of details and made sure I knew where she was in every step of the portrait making process. The results were beyond perfection. She captured Rutabaga's likeness perfectly, and I love the added detail of the floral scarf. I find myself just  looking for occasions to commission her work. I can't wait to work with her again in the near future!"

"I am a subscriber to a site called "Daily Candy" offered in many major cities in the USA which publishes interesting links and suggestions on things to do etc. Shortly after one of my two wonderful labs died Daily Candy posted a profile of Jo and her work. The daily Candy piece featured drawings by Jo of pets which were just lovely-colorful, playful, and most importantly you can see the personality of the pet. The Daily Candy piece had a link to her site so I drilled in and was even more impressed with her paintings of pooches. I had often considered having portraits made of my two boyz but was always fearful they would be replicas of photo's. Needless to say in viewing Jo's work I was intrigued. I reached out out Jo to learn about her process and learned that not only does she ask for lots of pictures she also asks for stories so that she can get a feel for your pet. I thought it was worth a shot and Jo and I agreed to go with paintings of my 2 dogs ( whilst drawings are wonderful I was looking for more colour ), she asked my colour preferences, and also agrees to paint a slightly smaller size to meet my spec. Throughout the process Jo was communicative - asked questions, provided updates and even glimpses of the work in progress. I shared some of the communications with friends who also love my two big bad boyz and they were equally impresses with the work and the process. I love the portraits and would highly recommend Jo and her work."

"I have been wanting a portrait of my dog Miles for a very long time, but I was waiting for the perfect artist to come along who not only does lovely work, but also has an incredible sense of style and artistry. The moment I saw Jo's work, I knew she was the one! I had so much fun working with her and I was blown away by how well she captured Miles in such a short amount of time. I will forever treasure this beautiful piece of art and I feel fortunate to have this gorgeous portrait of my best for-legged friend Miles!"

"Jo's art is unique, beautiful and one of a kind. Dutchess and Bruno look fabulous side by side. These two absolutely beautiful pieces of art arrived to me very quickly (even though I'm in Italy). Seeing them in person made me soo happy, it completely made my day.... then less than an hour later we were already at the frame shop ordering custom frames. I couldn't wait to hang them... I love love love them! I as well as my fiance couldn't be happier. They complete our home and now all of our walls have beautiful pieces of art. I feel like I am sleeping inside a little museum and it brings me sweet dreams. thank you so much Jo, i LOVE your work and I will always refer you in the future to friends, guests of the hotel and other encounters. Everyone who has seen the portraits has requested your contact information...that alone says a lot. Thank you for being a brilliant artist and business woman. It's truly been a pleasure working with you! I look forward to commissioning you for additional portraits of our future furry friends."

"I found out about Jo via Daily Candy. I was excited to read about her talent and even more excited once I contacted her. I commissioned her to draw a picture of my bulldog for an anniversary gift for my husband. Even thought she had received tons of exposure form the Daily Candy e-mail she made a point to be prompt when responding to e-mails. She was very flexible when it came to my deadline, which I truly appreciated since it was a gift. Jo frequently updated me regarding the status of the project and even sent me a draft. I feel like she knew my dog by the accurateness of her drawing from just a few photos and a brief description I had provided. I would highly recommend her work, it's a very reasonably price and I can't wait to give it as a gift. Jo is extremely personable and I feel like I now have a friend across the Pond. I would definitely commission her in the future an have passed along her information to al my family and friends with pets. It was a wonderful experience".

"Baci arrived yesterday and I am sooo happy with her portrait! You have captured her perfectly... and I really mean that. I love her expression and the tilt on her head. Her beautifully jewelled yet subtle collar is stunning. I am so proud of this portrait! I am looking forward to having it framed and up on the wall...in the time being she sits across from my bed where I see her before I go to bed and first thing when I get up!
Thank you so much for a beautiful work of art. You obviously have a great passion for what you do! I have also enjoyed looking at the other dogs on your portfolio. Each one is wonderful!"

I can't rave enough about Jo and her work. From the very first point of contact, she has been open, friendly, and enthusiastic....and everything she makes is charming, distinctive, and lovely. She recently worked on a commissioned piece for me -- it was an important gift and she did a fantastic job of rendering the perfect likeness of the dog. She generously exceeded expectations and went out of her way to make sure the piece was absolutely perfect. The piece arrived in the post early and was carefully and beautifully wrapped; this is just how Jo does things -- with effortless professionalism and charm. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out and I'm so happy to have met such a lovely, creative artist. I look forward to purchasing more from Studio Legohead in the future and can't wait to see what Jo does next.
